Hi. My name is Allegra,

Just like you, I loved my dog, but even though I studied dog training I still couldn't recognize all the distress signals she had been trying to communicate in her behavior.

What I thought were normal puppy behaviors or personality traits eventually escalated into serious separation anxiety and reactivity.

After trying multiple training approaches I realized
the thing needed to change was something I never considered could be part of the problem: our relationship. 

That was 17 years ago and since then I have been studying dog psychology and teaching dog owners what dogs truly need from us — which is, unfortunately, not what most of us are giving them.
